I do it without the boiling. Fry up a pack of bacon and set aside. use the grease to fry up the potatoes and onions seasoned with salt, pepper and some garlic powder and set aside. Then saute the drum. Add the potatoes, onions and crumbled bacon and give it a stir. If you want to get fancy sprinkle on some chopped parsley at the end.
